Decisions that will impact the rest of your life

High school is one of the most challenging times to make education and career choices.  You are asked to make decisions that will impact the rest of your life, with little real-life experience. Taking time out for career testing and coaching can help you make the best first career choices and build a strong foundation for the rest of your life.  Having the most up to date career information, support and guidance by an experienced professional can make a stressful time into a very positive experience. Websites such as the Occupational Outlook Handbook and Career Onestop can provide fascinating information on career trends for the future.  Guided research and coaching can help to answer the question help me find a career that uses my strengths, often asked by young people. Students with learning challenges such as ADHD can often use extra support during their career exploration.

When you start the career assessment process early you have time to explore options, volunteer, or take classes in areas of interests to see what is best for who you are. You also have time to make valuable contacts and to find mentors in your field of interest.

Through Career Testing and Coaching, you'll discover:

  • Your strengths and interests so you can have a more meaningful and rewarding high school experience.
  • What classes to take that support a college major that’s right for you.
  • What training venue would be best, college, technical college or on-the-job training.
  • A great career after high school if you choose to forego college and learn on the job.

Since you will probably change careers multiple times in your lifetime, learning this career search  process will help you in the future.
